China and Dominica sign a memorandum of understanding on the “Belt and Road”

       On July 13, 2018, Ambassador Lu Kun and Dominic Foreign Minister Barron signed the "Government of the People's Republic of China and the Dominican Government" on the joint promotion of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road on behalf of the two governments. Memorandum of Understanding.

       Ambassador Lu gave a comprehensive introduction to the significance of the “Belt and Road Initiative” and emphasized that the Caribbean region is an indispensable part of building the “Belt and Road” initiative. Ambassador Lu said that many governments have actively responded to the Chinese initiative and agreed to sign cooperation documents in a short period of time, reflecting the common aspiration of China and the United States to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation. China is willing to work with many parties to further promote relevant cooperation under the framework of the “Belt and Road” and achieve common development.

       Foreign Minister Barron highly appreciated the "One Belt, One Road" initiative proposed by China and thanked China for its long-term assistance for more development. Pakistan said that many governments are willing to work together with China to build the "Belt and Road" and push bilateral relations and bilateral pragmatic cooperation to a new level.
